felt SO bad for sterling in episode 10 i mean jesus talk about having a bad day. also, blair’s “no” at the end when she held sterlings hand just about broke my heart

Seriously, whatever else everyone was going through, it wasn’t alllll this together.

There are a bunch of asks about the ending and I was gonna do them as a batch but I was just watching random scenes before bed and ended on the finale and man, the way it built up, with the mom going, I gave you everything you asked for but I wasn’t going to let you take my daughter and Dana smirking at that and you JUST HAD THAT INKLING WHERE IT WAS GOING, all the previous moments starting to come together, when she “knew” to pick up Sterling from the lock-in and was so oddly proud and was like I guess it’s mother’s intuition, and then asked for a hug.

AND THEN IT WENT INTO TWIN VISION, for characters other than Blair and Sterling and it was like, well, of course they’d have it too, and then their convo and the audience knowing what was coming, and Debbie and Anderson, and then heartbreakingly, BLAIR realized before Sterling and as you said, that “No” and reaching out for Sterling’s hand before Dana dropped the bomb. Aaah, it was so well done.

I feel like April flirting with Luke in the lockdown was bc of her dad mentioning Sterling, she probably thought if he knew something then other people must be thinking it too.

Oh, absolutely, she went into panic mode and it’s so understandable. Her first thought would be that he knows and is either hinting at it so she stops on her own or is going to draw it out, because really, why else would he bring them up? Of course there are other rational explanations–even aside from Sterling being one of the bounty hunters that caught him, maybe one of his church friends brought them up, everyone likes the Wesley twins–but none of them particularly likely and you know how it is when you’re a closeted gay in a homophobic environment, you become paranoid at everything, looking too long at women, avoiding looking at them, how you dress, how you interact with girls, how you interact with boys, what your hobbies are. She is absolutely correct to worry about herself.

Of course that doesn’t give her free rein to hurt other people and she did need to apologize to Sterling about how she handled it without talking to her first and they both might end up hurting Luke some more, but it really is a situation with no good answer.

*Spoiler alert* Teenage Bounty Hunters If the reveal at the end was true, how can S and B communicate telepathically? That baffles me. The way they ended S1 just makes you want a S2!

I know! I think they’re just gonna say that they’re so close, whether it’s twins, sisters, or cousins, they just grew up with this deep bond and that’s what gave them this, it didn’t even need to actually be an actual twin relationship. I assume they’re going to go in a sweet, heartfelt found family direction where at the end of the day, it’s the family you choose, birth doesn’t change that.

even as “enemies” april confided so much in sterling about her dad, i wonder if sterling will do the same about her (SPOILERS) kidnapping/mom/not being blair’s twin issues. it’d be nice to see the roles switch where april is the one giving comfort to sterling

I mean, I’d LOVE if she did, and I feel like if they were real people, she absolutely would, April shared all that and she was still super mad at Sterling, Sterling’s actually mostly fine with her. But I’m not sure they’ll write it that way. TV seasons are built as these interweaving arcs, right, everything has to work together, like their arc had to build and really take off in the last few eps, after the break up with Luke, it had to be the reason why Sterling would get distracted enough from Blair to cause a rift, the breakup would need to happen in ep 10 along with the information about April’s dad getting out and add to the whole list of things Sterling was going through in the finale, plot developments can’t just be natural and organic, they have to feed into and be fed by each other.

So next season, it’s not just, she gets home and calls up April, we might not even get April or school at all in the first eps, there’s gonna be so much fallout and only then–well, unless John Stevens starts his plan to get revenge on them, then there’s gonna be a reason for their arcs to combine again. Most likely April will find out in some much more dramatic way, possibly not even from Sterling but Blair. Really depends on how they structure the season.

*spoilers for teenage bounty hunters* what did you think about sterling and luke kissing in the end?i liked their scene but i feel like them kissing could make people read her and april as a “just a phase thing” or something. i wish they didnt add the kiss. other than that i really liked sterling and april too, it was honest and soft and a bit sad

Oh, I don’t think people thinking it’s a phase is something to worry about, the show spent too much time to emphasize how much Sterling was pursuing April despite all the obstacles. It was clear she was upset about her and as she said, it was “so easy” with Luke, she wanted to go back to those easier less complicated times.

That doesn’t mean we might not have some more Luke next season, possibly even a weird messy triangle where both April and Sterling seemingly go after him while wanting each other, these writers aren’t gonna go for the simple route. The only good thing about that is at least it’s a binge so you won’t have to go week by week to see it all unfold until they fold and go back to each other. 😛
