Lol, that’s good, then! I did like the first season, it was a fun mindless way to spend time and not get too invested, but then Jack/Maya annoyed me because, of course I just didn’t like Jack, but also the way it was this super obvious drama to mess up Maya and Andy’s friendship.
But from s3 onward, of course I’m all for Maya/Carina, but also it’s more apparent just how…shallowly intentioned the drama is, I mean, of course it often covers very deep issues, but the way the show handles them, they’re just never gonna care as much about the issues or even characters or dynamics as the entertainment value of it all. Which, as long as we know up front and can decide if we want to watch or not, sure. People will make up, break up, get sick, die, cheat, it’s all just process and then onto the next. It makes it easier watching in some ways, for sure. I guess I’m just glad they got actresses with this chemistry so it kind of elevates it beyond that.
