*Spoiler Teenage Bounty Hunters* This whole Blair situation is really sad. When she was describing herself to Miles and says “depressed” like oh man how is this news going to affect her.

Yeah, it’s going to be tough! It’s going to shake everything for her. Sterling too, but Sterling will be occupied not only the lies and massive changes, but dealing with a new mom. Of course it’s going to be a huge loss to her too, the people she thought were her parents weren’t, her twin isn’t even her sister (putting aside the technicalities of identical twins having kids) but mentally, she’ll be pulled in a bunch of different directions and will be busy dealing with that. For Blair, this is a net loss, all she has to dwell on are changes that are taking things away from her. A new aunt off in jail is hardly enough to make up for a lost other half. 

A few days ago somebody asked off anon if I thought the parents treated Sterling differently because they were afraid she might stray like Dana, and I was like, nah,  they treated her like any parents would the child they had higher expectations of. I was the one who was wrong, it turns out, since interviews with the showrunner reveal that the parents did overparent their adopted daughter, maybe not necessarily for that reason, it was mostly likely a combination of being more careful and trying to “make up” for…everything, but Blair will certainly now remember the difference in treatment and realize why and question it.

I started watching TBH cause I heard there was a wlw plot line. As I watched the first episode, I immediately assumed it was gonna be Blair lol. She was in a relationship that wasn’t good for her, kissed with her eyes opened, kept sabotaging her potential relationship with Miles, and just gave a vibe. I was waiting for her to realize it until she had sex with Miles. I was like, wait a second… and then Sterling broke up with her boyfriend and did speech club with April, and I was like oh…

Hee, right! But you know, given the trajectory of these storylines, even if it were Blair, it’d have to be with April, because no other female character their age was really given enough time and interaction with either twin to be a potential love interest. And Blair and April did have their own dynamic and particular animosity. 

But yeah, I don’t hate at all where they went, obviously, which WAS super fun to see unfold once the breakup happened and suddenly Sterling has a whole ep with April… :O I’m glad you got the unspoiled experience, it was so fun that way!

yolanda’s sister saying sterling has a settled energy (despite sterling saying she’s actually a very nervous person) after her Big Gay Revelation with april was a cute significant moment. this show was unexpectedly clever with how they built in subtle signifying moments

Aww, right! Yeah, absolutely, it was this tiny throwaway moment you could easily read as just humor, haha, she’s so kooky she’s saying that about Sterling who is anything but, but given what we know has just recently been going on with her (as much as it absolutely is cause to be even more anxious) there’s something so nice about the thought that something in her’s settled a bit at realizing what, uh, makes her tick. And yeah, I liked that, obviously a lot of it was foreshadowing and callbacks for the plot, but it’s a character-centric enough show that a lot of them were about them, which I’ll always love.

I feel like April flirting with Luke in the lockdown was bc of her dad mentioning Sterling, she probably thought if he knew something then other people must be thinking it too.

Oh, absolutely, she went into panic mode and it’s so understandable. Her first thought would be that he knows and is either hinting at it so she stops on her own or is going to draw it out, because really, why else would he bring them up? Of course there are other rational explanations–even aside from Sterling being one of the bounty hunters that caught him, maybe one of his church friends brought them up, everyone likes the Wesley twins–but none of them particularly likely and you know how it is when you’re a closeted gay in a homophobic environment, you become paranoid at everything, looking too long at women, avoiding looking at them, how you dress, how you interact with girls, how you interact with boys, what your hobbies are. She is absolutely correct to worry about herself. 

Of course that doesn’t give her free rein to hurt other people and she did need to apologize to Sterling about how she handled it without talking to her first and they both might end up hurting Luke some more, but it really is a situation with no good answer.

*Spoiler alert* Teenage Bounty Hunters If the reveal at the end was true, how can S and B communicate telepathically? That baffles me. The way they ended S1 just makes you want a S2!

I know! I think they’re just gonna say that they’re so close, whether it’s twins, sisters, or cousins, they just grew up with this deep bond and that’s what gave them this, it didn’t even need to actually be an actual twin relationship. I assume they’re going to go in a sweet, heartfelt found family direction where at the end of the day, it’s the family you choose, birth doesn’t change that.

Did you ever watch Happy Endings? Sterling is basically young Jane Kerkovich (and canonically still bi!)

Oh, hmmm. I see where you’re coming from, they’re both the kind of put together sister but I think their roles within their sister relationships made them develop in different ways? Jane is the older one and kind of takes over things but Sterling is a twin and equal with Blair and in fact, because of their personalities, almost the one more sheltered. But overall, I do see what you mean, especially when she grows up.

Ohhh, right, I can see both of those. Someone also just mentioned Florence Pugh to me and it’s kind of funny how suddenly, along with Ava from WN, a significant amount of the discussion is who the actress resembles. But it’s also cool how after a certain amount of exposure they become their own person to us. 🙂

Oh I meant Sterling was Billie Piper, ha. April looks like a Disney star to me but I can’t place it.

Oh, okay, lol. I don’t know if I can see that, I’ve already decided Sterling looks like (obviously a super young version of) Hope Davis, it’s this thing they both do with the mouth especially.

To me April looks like a dead ringer for Alexa Havins, who played Babe Carey on All My Children. Who I personally hated so much for the baby switch storyline. I don’t known if you watched All My Children but they had a wlw storyline with Bianca Montgomery. I think BAM was my first shop, back in the day. But yeah April reminds me of Alexa so much, it was jarring especially because she sounds like her a little too. To be fair the three main girls, I just keep being reminded of other people.

April reminds me of Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia (the actress is Georgie Henley)! I don’t know if they look similar to you, but I just thought I’d let you know since you were wondering who she looked like 🙂

I’m not thinking of any of those…it’s such a clear image, just on the cusp of remembering everything else about her, but not yet. But, the ones you all named actually look super close to each other so maybe I’m the one missing something. Also, no, I haven’t yet watched either of the AMC ships (I’m not sure which one I want to ship, since I tend to go for just one and go hard) but definitely heard of them!
