Since you’re all caught up on skam fr! I must say lucky you, you didn’t have to watch the show live cuz the whole *spoilers ahead* trying to find where Lola went was SO SO stressful to follow omg ? I saw a post here that said “waiting for 3 fictional characters to find another one like it’s happening in real life” is so funny to me. But that’s part of the charm of skam I guess…

Oh, sorry, no, I was speaking in the abstract, just, that it’s nice in general when shows highlight other things as well. 

And yeah, I couldn’t imagine following all this live, I think that was partly why I also didn’t want to catch up before the season finished, that’s just too much stress. But definitely part of its charm, if you’re into it! it raises the amount of suspense and investment so if you do get the payoff, it’s all the sweeter.

So sorry or not to that anon that got that obsessed with skam france bc of us haha what I actually love about it is that it’s not exactly centered on mayla. I mean sure it is and it’s a big part of Lola’s story but a lot of other thing are super interesting to watch too like her relationship with her sister which is really for me the center of the this season and well you also really fall in love with Lola…(and Maya lbr) The show can get a bit messy tho but still is really really good!

Right, right, these shows tell a well-rounded story, which I like too, even as–or especially as a shipper, because, as I’ve said, when it’s done well, all the other parts of a story only enhance the ship.

Lol to that anon that got caught in skam fr same anon same… Mayla kisses and scenes are literally god tier idk if it’s because they’re french or something but they definitely lingered more on the kisses than any other shows in any other countries would I know i’m exaggerating but like am I? Hispanic shows are pretty good in that department too. And the cinematography is so so pretty.

It is stunning, for sure, it’s made to look gooood.

I was enjoying the harley quinn serie and a lot of other shows (as any multi shipper should) and then got caught up on skam france s6 as suggested by your anons and now I can’t think of anything else, I can’t even go back to enjoy harlivy anymore omg

Oh no! Or oh yes? Heh, I guess it depends on how you’re taking your current ship hangover. Are you happily basking in them or wishing you could get into something else? The ship’s that good, huh. Those pesky anons strike again!

skam france is not over tho… the old gen is over but now it’s coming the new gen and lola is part of it, among with maya ofc. and the rest of their gropu friends. which is exciting because almost every fan of the old gen got so annoying over the past season that it was almost unberable to be part of the skam france fandom at all lol. so now for them it is over that’s why a lot of ppl are saying finally it’s over or thank god im free lol

Ohhh, huh. I assumed anon meant the season, since even though they’ll continue, they’ll be more background (presumably)? And then of course whether or not they’re central next season, there’s still a long hiatus to catch up on watching. I don’t know about any of the drama with the previous generation. 😮

I can’t wait for you to watch SKAM, I’m used to watching it live and it’s definitely an experience. Bc it’s supposed to be in “real time” and so you’re waiting patiently (often losing your mind) for them to drop a clip to see what happens next so I wonder if you’ll get the same feeling watching it all at once.

I don’t really think I will! I’ve seen people waiting for the clips and following the social media (although maybe that was just Skam Spain?) and I don’t think one can really replicate that experience just bingeing. It seems different from even the suspense you get from a weekly series, with the whole real time aspect adding its own layer. But you know, I can’t say I’ll totally miss that suspense and fear of a bad end when watching live. 😛

Lolas a new character created for this season, she first appeared in the last episode of season 5 as one of the characters (Daphné) little sister

Different anon for skam, but Lola is a brand new character. She’s the sister of one of the og cast members. Maybe watch the season 5 ep 10 last clip and you’ll see Lola being introduced that can help a bit!

it’s pretty easy to understand starting from season 6 because it’s about a new character, there are some old characters that have a major presence in the season ( like the sister of the main character) but it’s still not necessary to understand, unless you’re actually interested in knowing more about the backstory of this characters as well

Lol, thank you, Mayla fandom! I get it: I need to start from the beginning. 😛 But no, I see now, I thought this was a legacy character getting her own season but she’s pretty new, now your advice makes sense! I do like to see characters outside of their ship, just as a comparison point, but it looks like that’s not needed here, which is a bit of a relief as I don’t think I’ll really be watching for the others. Aww, this is such a sweet ask. Thank you! Actually, I literally only heard about them yesterday so I haven’t really had a chance to watch, but I did see some gifsets and they definitely look intense! Those kinds of ships are always fun, because the softness is such a good contrast. I don’t even know how to watch at the moment but I am gonna keep an eye on it now.
