Oh, I have a plot question! Do we like Lucia? I’ve only seen her interact with Val a little but they seem to have a good relationship? On the other hand she killed Leon so is she good or bad? And does Leon know Lucia killed him? If he does, is he not mad?

We do, we do like her.

She’s definitely flawed and has made mistakes but she gets a lot of narrative sympathy. Not only does she get those flashbacks to Leon that show she’s missing him, something that endears her to the audience, we also get glimpses of her background, where she was forced into prostitution by her mom. So a lot of her need for security and acceptance come from that.

Also, she didn’t kill Leon, she thought they were going to steal from him, but Johnny jumped the gun and had Leon killed. She’s continued protecting him so of course she’s not an innocent victim in it but I would say that we’re meant to root for her to finally find some happiness with Jacobo/Leon.

I started watching amar a muerte from the beginning after watching all the Juliantina scenes bc i was really intrigued by the story. So far one of the characters i’ve enjoyed watching (when she’s not with Johnny) is Lucia. I’m only on ep 12, but it’s really interesting to me all the flashbacks she has of Leon bc i think she really loved him but just everything else shows something different and i kinda just want to know more about that

Johnny is honestly the worst part of the show to me. Away from him, I actually like Lucia a lot. Angelique Boyer is great and also Lucia’s just plain interesting in how she interacts with the Carvajals. I think she did eventually grow to love Leon and a part of her just wants to be accepted by his kids, by any family, but Guille and Val are at least nice people too. Jacobo is obviously younger and ostensibly better looking than Leon but a lot of what attracts Lucia to him are the parts that remind her of Leon. If the scheme had been allowed to go on longer and she didn’t live in a telenovela, she’d probably have fully fallen in love with Leon and that would be that.

As with everything on that side of the story, her relationship with Val is particularly of interest. I’ve said before that the Juliantina parts kind of slow down the story and make it more real and that’s true there too. Both Val and Lucia loved Leon in a wistful kind of way, in the hopes of what could have been and now both miss him bitterly and have bonded over that in a way the others don’t really share.

I’m the very out of the loop anon and can I just say I’ve literally never seen lucia before I’m screaming, like I vaguely knew that their dads were connected and that juliantina were basically side characters but I didn’t know souls were switching bodies tf

Omggg, but. Ohhhh, that’s right. They were left out of the compilation clips. No, there was one left in. Um, when they’re in the kitchen talking about love, after Lucho’s a douche (more a douche than usual) and Val kicks him out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BP97riB5sDs&index=25&list=PLZlgNEQJwHcpfxV-v2cskODkCuarU9qfo

Also, she was the stepmom who got kidnapped who Val was so worried about and why she wasn’t allowed to leave the house so Juls had to come over. But I guess she was never actually in those scenes, lol.

I can’t stand him but did the costume designer literally forget Jonni/Johnny exists? He literally wears that freaking blue suit 24/7. I honestly do not think he’s had an outfit change with the exception of the wedding

Lol, it took me literally a minute to read and reread your ask to figure out who you were talking about. I hate him! Lucia is so far above him… (speaking of which, anybody notice when she took the coat off today? >_>)

And lol, you’re right, he’s literally always wearing that suit like a uniform. Does he not remind you of…if a bear became a priest? I swear, go look at him and then think…a bear as a priest.
