I love that you’re into killing eve too because scrolling down your tumblr is a treat, pal. You’ve seen so many diverse femslash things, what’s your favorite thing about KE?

Ah, thanks!

Ooh, okay, so the first time I read this, I thought it was a more general question but favorite thing about KE specifically in the context of watching a lot of f/f? Hmmmm. There’s so many things to pick from, but I think what I’d go with is what encompasses all of it: that it has presented itself as a very fun, very good show about two women with a really unique dynamic and that I can trust it to be that?

Like, no doubt, it is a very good show, it has the cast, the writing, the budget, it wins awards and is regarded as prestige TV. But it’s one of the few shows like that where it gets to be irreverent and funny and most importantly, all that and about women. And with a clearly something f/f thread running through it. How rare is that (I ask as Gentleman Jack, the second show like it, is currently airing, lol)? I keep seeing people amazed at being considered the target audience for once, and really, it’s such an incredible experience. To have talented people with the support of their network say, for once, we see this in the same way you do. We’re almost never on the same page as the creators with resources. The more money that seems to be involved, the less we’re considered.

And when I say trust, I don’t mean I expect a happy ending, or not in a traditional sense anyway, but that’s not what it’s promising us. And maybe that even adds to the experience? It feels so comforting to be genuinely interested in what’s happening but not afraid, because of everything behind this, the quality, the focus on these two women as the leads, the understanding of what the show is.
