I think we never discussed the scene between Juliana and Beltran after they rescue her. That scene in the bed. Sometimes Beltran looked nice…

I know! He was such a confusing damn character, I thought he was on his way to redemption, and then he’d do something so horrible. Post-kidnap he seemed like he’d turned over a new leaf, he seemed to genuinely care for Juls and while I question the necessity of telling her why exactly he’d been horrible to her as Chino “Your mom cheated on me and I didn’t think you were my kid”, not a single part of which is okay, maybe having an actual tangible reason was valuable to Juls, to know that it wasn’t her fault, to know why. And he really did seem like he wanted to be in her life and in a good way. 

I feel like the writers wanted to show two different things with him, his natural charm at times, why Lupe stayed with him all those years, and this his specific journey as Beltran, how he was learning to care for Juls through caring for his other kid (who was also not “his”), some steps forward, some back, but man, his steps back were SO huge.

Oh in the Dr RoJuls AU Vera and Val totally know each other from the party scene and Lucho and Juanpi travel in the same douche-circle but the sweet responsible Dr who just wants to make her parents proud and the most of the opportunity because she KNOWS her life could be very different doesn’t have time to frequent such places… until a very grateful Val invites her out

Oooh, that’d actually be a really good source of motivation behind RoJuls’s drive and need to excel. And Vera and Val both in the party circle works so well, and omg, Lucho and Juanpi would TOTALLY be douche bros. Both bitching about their girlfriends and thinking the other has it better and then Val and Ro meet and hit it off and they think it’s actually a good thing at first. >_> 

That actually sounds like a really fun AU, if someone wanted to explore all the fundamental differences that kind of background would give RoJuls, but the same inherent goodness and kindness and mom-friend maturity from growing up too fast.

Yoooo…. I went through your juliantina tag from the very beginning and let me just say that I’m so glad you were convinced to check them out. This fandom is so lucky to have you. Your gifsets are ?, your tags are funny and smart, you are so respectful to a culture that you’re not part of by learning the context of things, and your responses to the ‘top discourse’ are so funny. Keep on being awesome, dear. :)

Whoa, that’s a LOT of posts and a lot of reading. Lol, me being convinced to check them out. The start of it all. Can you imagine if I hadn’t? I might not have had Juliantina OR MarVera. But I’d like to think both would have popped up on my radar eventually.

And, aw, thank you so much! Wow, you really did read through them all, I’d half forgotten some of this stuff. The ole top discourse… I think we all know now who it’d be. >_> And  oh, yesterday (or a few hours ago) was the anniversary of the TVyNovelas awards! I still don’t know why they decided to actually allow the polls to decide the winners but I’ll always love that they did and let AAM carry home every award we wanted.

juliantina/desenfrenadas cross over AU where Lupe had to put Juliana up for adoption when she was small due to the danger of Chino’s choices. Years later Rocio is a young resident on her first solo night shift media mogul Leon Carvajal is stabbed… I cant stop thinking about all of these crossover possibilities! i’m obsessed!!

Ooooh, that would be VERY interesting. Juls/Ro is the doctor who meets Val that way…nice, nice, nice. Because of her dad is the most important person to her and here is the beautiful young doctor who saves him. There are SO many possibilities, lol.

At one point I myself was like, wait, why am I thinking of Vicente vs Tobias for Ro when we have Vera and Val both as daughters of magnates with at least some stakes in journalism. Maybe they know each other:

(And they also know freaking Yalitza Aparicio for some reason, lol.)

And then maaaybe Vera could introduce Val to her childhood best friends and perhaaaaps things go from there.

ALSO. I heard that Barbi was supposed to be Marcela at first? Which on paper, might have seemed like Juls at first but can you imagine, lol. Still, I feel like there’s an interesting AU in there somewhere too.

I know you don’t gif much for juliantina anymore, but I love how you always deliver, and in spades, when something big happens. Thank you! I hope you never really leave this fandom.

Aww, of course! There are some fandoms that I burn out on or where something happened and I can’t enjoy it in the same way, but most of the time I jump into something new not because I’ve lost interest or care less about the current fandom, I just focus most and best on whatever’s recent. I definitely still love Juliantina as always. 

The way I care about Killjoys and have like locked away this one day a week for it, I wish I could do the same for Juliantina and Domlene and TDF and The Expanse and For All Mankind and Atypical and HACF and–obviously, The Pier, which IS the most recent big thing for me and even that I can’t stay focused on. I don’t care about freaking Stumptown more than I do about The Pier, it’s just…timing. Heh. As long as there’s new Juliantina content, I’ll (try to) be there. You know, on my to-do list, I have 243 Killjoys items and 350 AAM/Juliantina. They’re just…way down.
