I’m starting to suspect the harley animated show is gonna do the same as the comics, have them be in an open relationship, so ivy can still be with kiteman. I have a lot of thoughts on why i dislike that scenario, but was wondering if you think they’re heading that way too?

Oh, huh, you think so? I dunno, this feels kind of linear and deliberate, a specific journey and tropes and obstacles. If that were what they were doing, I don’t know if this would be the route they’d take? Maybe… I’d hate it, if so, lol.

I’d definitely recommend DC Bombshells! It’s kind of nice Bc it’s set aside from all the other DC chronologies so it’s a stand-alone and there’s sO MUCH GAY. Like it honestly ruined me for other DC comic runs Bc I was just like excuse me??? None of these are gay none of these amazing women are couples what is this???? But yes def rec. Harley & Ivy aren’t the only greats in them. I still gotta catch up on the end of the run and DC Bombshells reunited but from what I’ve read it’s a great series 1/

Honestly, I mostly bought them on amazon before I really thought about how shitty bezos is as it was more convenient and cheaper at the time… Think I got a couple at books a million and one at a local comic store iirc. If u like digital I think they’re on comixology but I prefer hard copies. Some libraries or hoopla might also have digital copies. (2/2)

Right! I’d heard that a lot of characters that were super straight in the rest of DC were queer in this one but wasn’t sure it’d be worth checking out a temporary blip in the whole of DC canon, you know? And mostly I just wasn’t that interested, the characters I cared most about were in other ships. But now that Harlivy’s becoming a more prominent entity in the different universes and I’m actually liking them, I want to check it out.

And yeah, no judgment, Amazon’s so cheap and convenient but, you know. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll check them out. For comics, I prefer to buy hard copies so the digital avenues won’t work. I wonder if there are plans for a special collected set when all the deluxe editions are out…

Lmao nerdbro edgelord, that’s exactly the vibe I got and why the show moved to the bottom of my list to watch someday. The first couple eps definitely weren’t the type of content I enjoy. I LOVE Ivy and Harley tho and had thought an MA rating would mean the creators would at least focus Harley/Ivy Bc it’s not a kids show so they don’t have the censorship restrictions but it very much wasn’t that from what I saw lol. DC Bombshells might’ve ruined all other Harley content for me (1/2)

Bc DC Bombshells has Harley/Ivy established from the start but I’m definitely gonna pick up the cartoon again. Maybe I’ll wait to see how the next couple eps play out first tho lol.

Oh, interesting, because I had NO investment in them before I started watching, as characters or as a ship, and maybe that helped? I quite like these versions, though, bearing in mind they are villains and there’s a crazy amount of casual violence in the show. So far, I’m willing to say that the nerdbro edgelordness was a bit of a Trojan horse for at least a soft Harlivy friendship, and obviously probably more. It probably also helped that I started after knowing they’d mostly likely happen in s2 and I very much do like a slowburn.

You know, I’ve heard a lot of great things about DC Bombshells but I tend to avoid the big DC/Marvel titles. When I go on a comics every once in a while it’s the smaller publishers or the limited runs, they’re not so overwhelming with the different series and chronologies and continuities and universes and retcons. BUT. I think I want to try DC Bombshells now, even if it’s a different incarnation of Harlivy. Where do y’all get your comics, since I’m trying to not buy from Amazon? I want the deluxe editions, if possible. 😮

OMGGGG!!! Harley and Ivy!!!! I was SO EXCITED when I found the show and then I started it and it was all joker-centric ivy seemed just a friend and I became meh about it and left it to the side as sumn I’ll watch when I’m bored but!!!!! Ivy and Harley!! The way every Harley story should be lmao imma continue now

Full disclosure, I didn’t want to watch it at all at first, I’d dismissed it as an adult cartoon deliberately trying to be as nerdbro edgelord as possible. But my friend watched it and loved it and was like, no, it’s not like that, well, it is violent and crass and that takes getting some used to, but it’s oddly hopeful in its messaging. And she LOVES Ivy and really shipped them and the writers basically admitted they were going there so I thought I’d give it a try.

The first season does have a lot of the Joker but in the sense that he’s awful and Harley should stay away from him, which, I’m fine with that. And like, I’ve shipped friends with less subtext than Harley and Ivy, and I don’t mind a slow build at all, I prefer it, if anything. They are the center of the show, no doubt. So even with freaking Kite guy, I’ve been pretty excited about this once I started catching up and now it’s finally here.
