Hi! Wondering if you’ve seen/your thoughts on the For All Mankind S2 Teaser that was just released!

Hey! Yep, I saw it last night while making the gifset I just posted and was like, does this affect it in any way? …nah. šŸ˜›

In case anyone wants to see it:

I guess my biggest takeaways are:

  • lol at them using Sweet Dreams as a backing track
  • theyā€™re really going all-in on the timeskip, everyoneā€™s been aged up
  • Iā€™m glad all the people I liked are there, excepting Pam, although obviously the lack of her in the teaser doesnā€™t mean anything, Larry wasnā€™t there either and there was hardly any of Ellen (but sheā€™s still leading missions? Yay!). Not sure if thatā€™s a good thing or not, thereā€™s a lot of Molly but I feel almost nervous, if that means a sendoff or just a lot of her. Also donā€™t think I saw Aleida?
  • Booooo, Reagan
  • I guess we need some kind of conflict to continue to push the premise of the show, that our program is pushed by competition with Russia or China or somebody and not just for the ideal of progress, but Iā€™m not sure whole gunfights on the moon are where I wanted to go with this

Iā€™m excited but nervous!

Which are your thoughts about Pam and Ellen on the finale of ā€œFor all mankindā€? ?

Okay, I stayed up to watch this and remain unspoiled even though I have a work deadline tomorrow, so I have to sleep right after, but, let me post below the cut.

I loved it! I loved it I loved it I loved it.Ā

What a tense, good hour (and 15 minutes!) of TV, with all the various arcs, and this is the number one preference I have for a show, where itā€™s a well written well executed genre show with wlw part of it, theyā€™re part of the main action, theyā€™re there, they make an impact, as characters, and their relationship is given a chance to shine.

Ellen telling Deke had me already so hyped and then his reaction broke my heart, I loved Deke, my favorite guy on the show, Iā€™m so glad he redeemed himself on that and I really will miss him so much, Marge realizing was so effective. But the moment they showed Pam watching, I freaking KNEW where they were going, to parallel her watching it unfold with everyone else, her always on the outside, I couldnā€™t have DREAMED theyā€™d bring Karen in to bond with her and like, Iā€™m so curious to know what it is she thinks after seeing Pam that emotional about it, like, does she suspect about Ellen or does she think Pamā€™s in love with Deke or Ed or Harry?Ā

Iā€™m fine with how things were left, this is the end of season 1 only, thereā€™s so much plot to go through, and they showed so much already, through both Ellen up there and Pam down there, this is what a bulk of the finale was focused on! To give their story that kind of focus, and that kind of sympathy!

And to end with freaking Commander Ellen Waverly (Iā€™m not gonna use Wilson) as the lone woman on the moon, the female John Glenn/Ed Baldwin/Captain America type, I love that!Ā

the cobbs and the stevenses are the only valid het ships in fam. (not really f/f soz, its just that the fandom for this shows kinda nonexistent)

Heh, itā€™s fine, Iā€™ve been known to ship the odd m/f couple. The Cobbs, Molly can do whatever Molly wants, but the Stevens, Gordoā€¦I like him but I can so see every conflicted feeling Tracy has about him, he can be funny, charismatic, surprisingly caring, but god, along with that came a whole lot of other stuff.

It almost feels like he and Tracy would be AMAZING friends, how they were in the latest ep. And not even because I want Tracy to be with a woman, Iā€™m fine with her story just being a supportive friend and apparently the most maverick astronaut of all, lol, I found it kind of hilarious and wonderful that no matter how privileged the male astronauts are, they all came up through the military, so even the most bullheaded and expert astronaut will bow to mission controlā€™s decisions, they understand chain of command. But these women, the very act of getting this far has only come from bucking so many conventions and instructions, so Molly with the ice hunting for example, and then Tracy with Molly, theyā€™re just not gonna listen. Whatā€™s the worst that could happen? What theyā€™ve been secretly expecting would happen from the start?

But anyway, not to go off on a Tracy tangent, I mean, I do like Gordo on his own and I understand heā€™s struggled, but in their marriage, Tracy was the one who had to put up with so much. Maybe itā€™ll settle into a nicer balance like itā€™s kind of starting to, Iā€™d be okay with that. But heā€™s still on probation with me.

I know we focus a bit on Ellen on For All Mankind, but thereā€™s a scene in latest episode that cracked me up so much. When Ed, Gordo, and Danielle are reacting Bob Newhart lol

Lmao, yes! I actually really loved that, and was trying to figure out a way to gif in parallel to watching it on screen. For a while, everything was going all right on Jamestown and it was just so charming and absurd and lovely to see. These incredibly educated, smart, brave humans sitting up there on the moon, acting out and laughing at a sitcom ep. And the fact that even Ed and Dani were into it, who tended to be more serious at times, all of them giddy and acting like children. I was so mad at NASA for not sending up more tapes! If they had any idea what they were going through…

Hey, I love your tumblr! Thanks for all the awesome gifs. Just wondering what happened on the latest ep of For All Mankind.

Hey, thanks!

Okay, so, remember how I was predicting that maybe Ellen and Larry would get married to take the heat off? I had ALMOST added, as a guess that I then decided was too soapy, that Pam and Ellen would split up and maybe reunite years later, but it seemed too dramatic, why wouldnā€™t they just continue to treat it as the artificial but necessary arrangement it was? But the next ep picks up in the same general time, no large timeskip, Larry and now Ellen are continuing to face pressure, and when the boss suggests they take that next step, while theyā€™re considering it, to Pam, that would be it. Itā€™s too big and meaningful for her to ignore, so if they went for it, she and Ellen would be over. And then one of the final scenes is Ellen and Larry getting married.
