I really hated Erik and then by the end he really was just kind of dumb but good at heart. Like this was kind of the perfect villian origin story.

Same, I hated him at the start for how horrible he was to the illegitimate kids but he went through enough personality transplants that by the end I kind of liked him. But who knows what would have happened next season, this show is the opposite of consistent (except making Ginger the awesomest–we’re lucky we didn’t see HER ruined too).

I read that ask about Filthy Rich before I saw the episode and was still unprepared! I can’t believe I was disappointed the show didn’t get a second season

Lol, did the barfy barf barf part intrigue you?

As I was saying to a friend when we were discussing it, just from the flipflopping we’ve seen in character for the sake of plot in these last few eps, I can bet that in season 2 they’d have at some point had Becky be done with him and have the show go back to Becky/Ginger, just as they’ve been doing for all the ships, but….just because they don’t care about what happened in the previous episode doesn’t mean we’ll forget. And I’m sorry to be judgy, if you have slept with some older person who is also the parent of your husband and gf, I’m sorry to be judging. But I don’t think I could come back from that. Maybe in time I’ll just ignore the end and gif a bit more but for right now….I don’t like that.

Something in my heart told me that the last episode of filthy rich with becky and ginger would not end well and i was right. Man imagine if we got a season 2 i wonder how that would be like.

Well, let’s just be grateful we didn’t because baaaaarrrrrffffffff. That was disgusting and–ultimately I’m not sad I watched because you never know which of these f/f stories’ll turn out to be good (and I still love the neck kiss and also, kind of impressed about the mentions of abortion and even access to it) but this one ended……..whew. Eesh. I mean, possibly next season they’d go back to the Franklin/Margaret, Ginger/Becky, Eugene/Tina endgames they’ve been flirting with but after this? Barfy barf barf. D:

So I started watching Filthy Rich and I got up to episode 9 and I know there’s one more episode left but I’m confused? What was the point of putting Becky and Ginger together if they were just gonna break up in the next ep? Like if it was hust for the divorce then why have that convo about how they wanted to give their relationship a shot? Like th divorce is the only way the show has been affected so far so I’m just very confused.

And another anon:

I’m all confused as why they were gonna have them together Becky and Ginger to break them up so quick?

I know! It’s just so weird narratively?? They didn’t need to do that if they didn’t want to, it barely had any impact on the rest of the show. Now I’m not even sure why Becky is a character that exists at all, for all the effect on the show she’s had? Unless she’s going to take up Paul’s mantle, but even so, what does this all have to do with Becky/Ginger and why have the convo they did in 1×08…I don’t know… Ugh, it’s so much harder to deal with badly written drama than effectively written but devastating angst.

re: Filthy Rich and that scene with Becky and Ginger in the hospital umm wtf was that?? I stopped watching the ep after that scene so disregard this message if they have another but just going into the episode it felt like there was so much missing? like with the chaos that episode 8 ended with, I thought that ep 9 would pick right off but a lot of it (at least the plane ride to NY, finding out the guy was dead, finding out the kid was kidnapped, Becky’s injury) was resolved off-screen

Yeah, it felt like they’d milk it more where they left it but I get it, they only had so much time and clearly certain things can be assumed to have happened without any confusion, why waste time with them.

But the conversation (and it was just the one) was pretty random, how was Ginger out of the picture to begin with? And Becky’s weird zen thing… And what did wrong place mean? Like, who Ginger is as a person? As a woman? As anybody at all when she wants to focus on her baby? Not sure what we’re supposed to take from that… It really does flip on a dime on this show, as it kind of felt like with Ginger last ep. I guess we just hope for something in the finale.

Thinking Becky was gonna push her lol I also thought the same thing! I think bc of Marc Cherry’s hold on me and having watched Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids my mind automatically goes there and I think the worse

Yeah, it’s that style of show. And it’s not like it hasn’t had its share of random violence either. Poor Luke! In fact, now that I’ve had a think on it, [POSSIBLY POINTLESS PESSIMISTIC SPECULATION AHEAD:] I’m actually kinda worried for Becky, there’s none of her in the preview for the next ep and both Eric and Paul look pretty upset. It would also explain something that confused me about ep 8, how quickly Ginger had feelings for Becky, but if that that was only meant to drive up the tragedy factor… Plus the angel outfit possibly foreshadowing and the actresses easing back on the promo. 😡

But I’m probably being paranoid. >_> It would be impossibly cruel to take this character who’s felt trapped and unhappy for most of the show and even before and then kill her right after she’s starting to find happiness. Not to mention, a pregnant wlw, good lord. That’s really dark, isn’t it? I’ll expect some drama for her and the baby but that ultimately she’ll be fine.
