About that anon asking if Vera is a lesbian, well… I don’t think we’ll get labels for their sexual orientations, I don’t know exactly why but here in Mexico we are with the “I don’t need a label to love” discourse or something like that. So we’re getting our gay ships but they don’t label themselves… Just like they did with Juliantina. ✌?
Yeah, there’s a lot of that up in the US too, heh. But it’s fine, as much as labels can help with specificity, it’s also easier to not write them, or at least easier to not mess them up.
But I just hope they still follow this up in the next season (and that there is one), and don’t go, oh, it was just two opposite but similar girls connecting in a moment of stress, nothing to see here.
Do you thing Vera is a lesbian? I’m really curious about that
I don’t know… One the one hand, she’s created this misleading idea about all the guys she’s slept with but it’s just a few and she’s never had an orgasm before, so her first and so far only is with a girl but on the other hand, she can drive, so. 😛 But really, on the other hand, there is the trauma that might account for the first part, not that she’s a lesbian.
I don’t really suppose it matters either way. But I think that as a fictional character who is the first billed of this series, it is less likely that she is written to be a lesbian.
Are we supposed to assume that Ro and Carlota don’t know that Vera was molested as a young kid? Bc I don’t think Ro would’ve made that comment to Vera about blaming her for being attacked if she knew her sexual assault history. I mean I would hope no one would make that kind of comment regardless but idk I feel like she would be more aware of Vera’s history to not say that. Sorry I’m rambling now lol
Yeah, I don’t think they know. Surely not. And exactly as you said, Ro shouldn’t have said that in any case, but knowing that??? No. I feel like even aside from that one time, if they knew, they’d allude to it in other ways, tiptoe around it, mention it at some point, reference it in hushed whispers. I don’t think Vera told anybody, not them, not her parents.
