Whata re your thoughts on the scene outside of the strip club for Marvera? I like how Vera came in with attack thinking Marcela was going to give it back to her but Marcela is just like listen it wasnt like that. Vera then just kind of doesnt know what to say. So she tries to change the subject making it about the ring but we know it never was about that. Then i loved her outburst cause she could hold it in. “You cant just ask like a FRIEND and then disappear”

Ugh, that’s one of my absolute favorite scenes. There’s so much they want to say and so much weight in their interactions now because of their recent history and both were so open with each other and had worked so hard to get there, considering the kind of people they are, and now have their masks on again because both are so afraid of getting hurt because they know the potential to be is there!

What I loved most was the clear shifting of balance back and forth, as different emotions took over. Vera’s up first, as you said, on the attack, using the ring. Marcela is on the defensive because she knows she was in the wrong but she blusters through. And then exactly! It’s not about the ring at all. Now there’s a shift because what Vera really wanted to know was about them. Why did Marcela leave? Was it because of her? Were they friends? If so, how could she just leave like that? And Marcela sees that vulnerability and something inside her responds, but she can’t give in, there’s no way forward for them here, so she tries to end it, claiming they’re too different. A confrontation that started with Vera wanting her ring back ends up with Marcela yelling at Vera before Vera hurts her by bringing up those same differences, which now would cause so much more hurt after their time together.

I can’t get over the bit in the last ep of desenfrenadas were it cuts from vera and marcela’s confrontation outside the club straight to that like soap opera on tv where the lady’s saying “I gave you my heart, and you crushed it,” like the blatant parallel… exquisite

Omg, right?? God, ep 10 was just so good, from start to end. I was so pleased when I realized what they were doing, Marcela and Vera’s argument and then you cut to this soapy melodramatic treatment of star-crossed lovers, reinforcing how MarVera are supposed to be seen similarly. So deliberate and effective.

Love your gif of the strip performance! The reaction of the trio. Vera in awe, Rocio with a what I’m doing here face and also what are we going to do, Carlota being the fluffiest most supportive and adorable and of course Marcela shocked face! This scene was brillant!

Lol, yeah, that’s perfect for Ro and Carly, but you know, thinking back on Vera, she was such a mixture of so many things. Because later on when they’re waiting outside, she points out how she was yelling at Marcela while Marcela had to work there, understanding how bad that was, so I think there was definitely awe and some straight up thirst, but also some guilt and resolve, like, “I’m gonna get her out of here.” 

Man, I just didn’t expect that scene, even though the ep was inevitably building to it, I thought the point had been their reunion across the street, which I already loved, seeing how they both ended up there. But then! The music and the recognition, the one-sided recognition! And then Marcela finally looking at them! And the knowledge of the confusing, messy place Vera and Marcela were in and the inability of anyone to react in any real way. It was…masterful.

What did you think about desenfrenadas last scene?? I love how the girls communicate without words. It starts like a circle Ro/Vera, Ro/Carly, Carly/Marcela, Marcela/Mike, Marcela/Vera and it ends with a teary eye Rocio, but you don’t feel sad like you said you feel optimistic that whatever live throws at them, they have each other backs.

Oh, I loved it, for exactly the reasons you said. It highlighted ALL the different friendships, this wasn’t just a show of one set of people, but this sisterhood, and they managed to save Marcela and show just how strong they were together, and how strong the bond was, for trying at all. A perfect place to end the season on. 

Again, I really would love for s2 to pick up directly from there, but I would understand if they didn’t want to ruin the beauty of it and just left what happened next to our imagination and did a timeskip.
