danielle and stefania’s chemistry is really top-notch :’) the off-screen content (ah, yesterday’s live was super cute) makes the whole experience of investing in them even more worthwhile. any ideas in terms of what you want to see in s4? i’m hoping that carina now gets her own storylines since i’m assuming that’s what her promotion entails (and for good reason)? it’s great that s19 is being receptive towards feedback and made it a point to take advantage of their awesome chemistry!

Omg, I didn’t even know about the one yesterday! Thanks for telling me! I’d have missed it entirely. Well, I mean, thankfully it got put up on Youtube but I just didn’t even know to check! 

What the heckkkk, they’re so cute! And Jeff! And the whole story of how she found out about getting the series regular spot and awww, she was worried when Krista Vernoff called her! No wonder the other anon was like, they’re such good natural promo for the show and ship and like, even putting this vid aside I was like, yeah, they sure are, can’t disagree! Cosigning that! But they meant specifically this! Awww.

For sure, their investment and excitement just makes it better for us. For season 4…like, honestly, I’d wish for them to talk it out more, not Carina throwing it in Maya’s face but like, actually showing the work Maya’s putting into it and Carina acknowledging it, more of Maya’s mom in their lives. But yes, her own storyline, like, it’s past time. At this point, I’m not even sure if dealing with Andrew’s story will be enough, since that’s being framed very much as an Andrew and Meredith storyline, and it’ll be on Grey’s. Over on S19, I don’t really know what they can offer her professionally? Will she decide to moonlight in that ambulance unit Ben set up? Change fields? Come home and share details of her OBGYN life? Take new courses or try a new specialty? Will it have anything to do with covid? I don’t want to see covid in ANY media ever tbh, but I think Grey’s already said they’ll cover it and I don’t know how a show built around dramatically addressing emergencies won’t… 

But yeah, trepidation at Marina’s future aside, just promoting her is great, going out of their way and putting her with her literal onscreen love interest, I can’t help but think that’s all super cool and definitely a good move.

Stefania and Danielle are really managing to get so many people on board because of how well they gel off-screen and how much they do for the fans :’) I’m excited and nervous to see how they’re going to incorporate Stefania in the show full-time – glad that Stefania and Danielle are helping the fans cope with the extra long hiatus lol! Shondaland got lucky because they took charge of promoting their own ship (and it’s working)!!

They really did luck out with them! I don’t know how many new people they’re bringing in, but they’re doing a lot to maintain interest, and probably bumping up casual fans into something a bit deeper. Aside from the SM side, they’re just obviously gorgeous and talented and again, that riDICULOUS chemistry. It would have been so horrible to waste it so I’m glad there was someone at least halfway competent behind that decision.

Of course, I could come to rue saying that. I love how knowing Stefania is on S19 now is such a collective fandom roller coaster, excitement and apprehension alternating in waves. Oh, well, as you said, we got a long hiatus to bask in what we have now and the potential for more.

I have steered away from getting invested in ships bc I try to enjoy shows w/o fandom drama but the fact that Danielle & Stef are so low maintenance and don’t need the show’s promotion to hype them up is so refreshing lol. They’ve cultivated a lot of fans by just being super interactive, genuine and fun people who enjoy each other’s company. Shondaland is lucky that they have so much hype for a ship that doesn’t get nearly enough screentime. S4 – give us the content we deserve lol.

Oh, I agree, they’re great and it’s really easy and fun to be their fans because of how engaged they are with the fandom and if the writers were smart they’d capitalize buuut at this point, after seeing so many actresses’ charisma and chemistry squandered, I try to separate it from my investment in the fictional ship. I think in this case it just so worked out that Danielle is super hard-working and engaged on SM and pulled along an admittedly totally willing and compatible Stefania, but the ship could absolutely still go south and this could fizzle out, or vice versa, and that’d be that. I mean, I’m absolutely still gonna lap up whatever content they put out, but still trying to compartmentalize, however successfully.

I only knew about the Dani/Stef live because of the ask you got and I don’t really watch celeb stuff like that but everything sucks and it was there and I’m actually really glad I did. Obviously celebs are people and owe us nothing but it was so nice as a black woman to see two white women speaking so frankly about their unconscious biases/racism and not be all self righteous about it? When they started I was so wary but it was interesting. Just a nice change esp from nonblack celebs.

Oh, yeah! I was nervous about it, people are revealing so much about themselves in these times. When it seemed like they were going to veer away from any discussion in favor of “distraction”, as they had already said before it started, I was actually relieved, but I’m glad when they DID bring it up, it was mostly from a place of understanding why it was happening and, as you said, acknowledging their biases and privilege and what their role was.

Did you see Danielle’s live yesterday? She brought up Stefania so many times without being prompted and talked about the hike they went on this week and seeing her dog LOL it’s genuinely so cute to see how well they get along offscreen :’) It makes me root for Marina even more if that makes sense. The chemistry is so undeniably breathtaking that it’s almost scary lol.

Okay, so, this is from weeks ago, and I’m so sorry I didn’t answer earlier, but good lord, did you see today’s?? They DO get along well, huh. I could not have imagined being here with actresses from a ship, after getting the occasional selfie or interview. Yeah, the one with Emma was a nice surprise, the way she dropped those tidbits she knew the fans would be hanging on for, but today. :O

I do get what you mean about it making you root for the couple harder, and I totally see how, though personally I try to separate that as like, bonus content because I don’t want the ship to be defined by that. Lol, although I’m still kind of laughing helplessly at today’s live, because that’s almost the better making of a romance than what we saw on S19.

That thing you said about Danielle having an intense stare, or Maya having it, you’re absolutely right. She really looks at you like you’re the only person in the room. I’ve noticed it no mater who she’s having a conversation with. It’s both hot and unsettling lmao

Right!! It’s not really true for Danielle in lives, although obviously conditions are quite different, but there she just looks a normal amount of attentive and friendly, it’s just sometimes on the show she looks really intense when it’s just a super normal scene. Like when she and the others were reacting to Emmett coming out:

Like, okay! It works SUPER well with Carina’s own genuinely curious interest, as that first bar scene showed. I really wish we had footage of that first table read, heh.
