You reminded me of how hot Maya is with the work out gifset, even though she is so badly written Carina deserves so much better.
She is super hot! And the new hair…. And yeah, she can be written in a certain way, but as I was just saying in the previous reply, people are just written all over the place. With enough screentime, Carina’ll probably like, I dunno, kill someone or try to steal an election or whatever, something that makes Maya suddenly appear like the “good” one. And then it’ll switch and then again.
I’m watching Station 19 from the beginning because you know gay, and man I actually like this stupid show. Also Maya and Carina are adorable!
Lol, that’s good, then! I did like the first season, it was a fun mindless way to spend time and not get too invested, but then Jack/Maya annoyed me because, of course I just didn’t like Jack, but also the way it was this super obvious drama to mess up Maya and Andy’s friendship.
But from s3 onward, of course I’m all for Maya/Carina, but also it’s more apparent just how…shallowly intentioned the drama is, I mean, of course it often covers very deep issues, but the way the show handles them, they’re just never gonna care as much about the issues or even characters or dynamics as the entertainment value of it all. Which, as long as we know up front and can decide if we want to watch or not, sure. People will make up, break up, get sick, die, cheat, it’s all just process and then onto the next. It makes it easier watching in some ways, for sure. I guess I’m just glad they got actresses with this chemistry so it kind of elevates it beyond that.
This is probably a long shot but do you or your followers have any Station 19 fic recs? I binged and now I need more but I don’t want to sort through or even know where to start.

your ideas about S4 alike to mine and im also hoping that we get to see carina’s situation while growing up. S3 showed everyone’s backstories so the newest regular needs her backstory too! yes, im also a bit confused about what she’s going to do professionally too but so far, i feel like the show has done well in terms of balancing screentime so im hoping they know how to integrate her job into the show too. so excited for her to get proper promotion and to see more shades to their relationship!

True, s3 really delved deep into their backgrounds and even if the process had been started years earlier, like, good luck the same is true for Carina, heh, even if on a different show.
S19 has done okay with screentime among the non-Andy characters, I guess, true, so…if we’re to see the same kind of thing for Carina, plus the fact that she is in a relationship with another regular character, meaning much of their personal story slices of time actually dovetail into one larger story instead of two smaller ones, that’d be pretty interesting. Like, we saw Andy/Jack, Jack/Maya, Andy/Robert, and I don’t expect Marina will get exactly that because all of those involved Andy in some way and caused conflict that affected the whole show (the way the Maya/Andy friendship does, and why I love main character ships so much) but it’ll definitely be a step up from where it is now. Maya’s still the captain, I wonder if that’ll somehow play a part, though I can’t see how yet. Carina isn’t a general doc looking for a job to do, she’s a specialist in a field she likes and is good at and that has very little to do with a fire station… Welp, we’ll see!
I gotta say your tag- ‘I’m just so pessimistic when it comes to this franchise’s romantic stories’ is a wholemood. Rewatching Greys rn, mostly for Callie, and her lovelife is… Yikes. Her husband was in love with another, and Calzona was cute but Arizona was weirdly biphobic at times and then the whole cheating plot. AND! They killed half of the show’s main ship. I’m only on ep 8 of Station19 but I have no trust! But Dr. Orgasm gets a girl and they’re cute so I’ll enjoy ’em till they ruin it!
Right, even with the few endgames, the process to getting there seems painful!
Um. Ep 8 of S19? That’s early, huh. Yeah… Some people might consider Marina ruined already, tbh, once you finish the latest season. Depends on your tolerance and the leeway you’re willing to give’em.
danielle and stefania’s chemistry is really top-notch :’) the off-screen content (ah, yesterday’s live was super cute) makes the whole experience of investing in them even more worthwhile. any ideas in terms of what you want to see in s4? i’m hoping that carina now gets her own storylines since i’m assuming that’s what her promotion entails (and for good reason)? it’s great that s19 is being receptive towards feedback and made it a point to take advantage of their awesome chemistry!

What the heckkkk, they’re so cute! And Jeff! And the whole story of how she found out about getting the series regular spot and awww, she was worried when Krista Vernoff called her! No wonder the other anon was like, they’re such good natural promo for the show and ship and like, even putting this vid aside I was like, yeah, they sure are, can’t disagree! Cosigning that! But they meant specifically this! Awww.
For sure, their investment and excitement just makes it better for us. For season 4…like, honestly, I’d wish for them to talk it out more, not Carina throwing it in Maya’s face but like, actually showing the work Maya’s putting into it and Carina acknowledging it, more of Maya’s mom in their lives. But yes, her own storyline, like, it’s past time. At this point, I’m not even sure if dealing with Andrew’s story will be enough, since that’s being framed very much as an Andrew and Meredith storyline, and it’ll be on Grey’s. Over on S19, I don’t really know what they can offer her professionally? Will she decide to moonlight in that ambulance unit Ben set up? Change fields? Come home and share details of her OBGYN life? Take new courses or try a new specialty? Will it have anything to do with covid? I don’t want to see covid in ANY media ever tbh, but I think Grey’s already said they’ll cover it and I don’t know how a show built around dramatically addressing emergencies won’t…
But yeah, trepidation at Marina’s future aside, just promoting her is great, going out of their way and putting her with her literal onscreen love interest, I can’t help but think that’s all super cool and definitely a good move.
Stefania and Danielle are really managing to get so many people on board because of how well they gel off-screen and how much they do for the fans :’) I’m excited and nervous to see how they’re going to incorporate Stefania in the show full-time – glad that Stefania and Danielle are helping the fans cope with the extra long hiatus lol! Shondaland got lucky because they took charge of promoting their own ship (and it’s working)!!
They really did luck out with them! I don’t know how many new people they’re bringing in, but they’re doing a lot to maintain interest, and probably bumping up casual fans into something a bit deeper. Aside from the SM side, they’re just obviously gorgeous and talented and again, that riDICULOUS chemistry. It would have been so horrible to waste it so I’m glad there was someone at least halfway competent behind that decision.
Of course, I could come to rue saying that. I love how knowing Stefania is on S19 now is such a collective fandom roller coaster, excitement and apprehension alternating in waves. Oh, well, as you said, we got a long hiatus to bask in what we have now and the potential for more.
