I was re-watching Warrior Nun as one does when they’re obsessed with one particular show. And the club scene always cracks me up. Where Ava sees that couple kiss with the pill in their mouth and she decides to do that with JC but someone bumps into her and she accidentally swallows it lmao

Oh, yeah! I was so focused on Bea during that, such a rule follower but still quietly defying Mother Superion enough to offer comfort to Ava, I wasn’t even really thinking about what that must have been like for Ava.
She turned into her so instinctively! Which doesn’t stand out until you remember she hasn’t touched anyone in years. She’s been touched by the orphanage nuns a bit but that’s quite different. She did hug Diego when she returned to visit, true, but that was a greeting, not seeking comfort like this. And like, not to go all Juliantina, but pressing her face into Bea’s neck for comfort, well. >_>
But really, it does say SO much that this person who has been so, so alone, and is suddenly battling so much, the weirdness of this all, being able to move and touch again, being out with people again, trying to balance being independent with not being so alone, and she’s still able to (correctly) identify that this quiet, restrained person will offer her solace. :’)
After my third rewatch I can wholeheartedly say that Ava looks like alba Baptista. And that’s that.
Awww, maybe that’s the best choice in the end. She certainly deserves to be focused on for her own sake, and not just who she resembles the most. 🙂

Can we praise a little the amazing jacket and outfit Ava used in the Vatican mission?
Oh, yes! I actually almost wish they’d shown if not her actually picking it out, then a a reference to it, as a parallel to when she was trying to pick an outfit in ep 4.
Look how uncertain she looks, that nervous little gesture, and this was after she and Chanel talked about deciding her style so this is supposed to be her big moment.
But compare that to the confidence here!
She kept the jacket! But she really made this outfit her own, a mix of what the nuns wore, incorporating the chain mail throughout, the longer tunic, but also giving it the leather jacket aesthetic she adopted when she finally started taking charge of her life after Mary left her at that town. But it was definitely also just like, urban fantasy chic and super hot on her, lol.
