Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Barb & Maca say in the Raze interview that there was a scene in the jeep where Val was supposed to get mad bc Maca grabbed her boob? But they censored it, so the script changed and they did the new scene. Based on what they said, i got the feeling that they never filmed the first version. Im just wondering why ppl are trying to get the van scene when we already got it. (granted i wouldn’t mind if it was longer) Is eeryone confused or just me

What? People are trying to get the van scene? Well. It worked once already, right.

I thought two different things happened, one was that scene changing, not even necessarily because of censors, somebody just made a creative decision, and frankly, I think, for the better. As if Val would get mad about that. Not in a million years, lol.

But, I also think what did end up getting shot for the van scene was longer than what was aired. Tbh, I think what we got was good enough, clearly they were interrupted as it was about to escalate so we got the start and the end, there are just bits in between that are missing? But then I thought the first time scene was it aired was okay too so what do I know? I’d say let the fans do what they want and show interest and maybe have fun while doing it. I just hope they don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t work this time. Getting the first one was crazy enough.

So I’m only on like episode 38 and I know girls in general are allowed to be more affectionate with each other (and it’s less weird in Mexico) however I do like the fact Juliatinas intimacy isn’t weird or hesitant even as new friends. They’re dancing together, holding hands, sleeping in the same bed, touching each other’s hair and it’s never awkward or taboo, and I really enjoy this type of freshness or comfort they have with each other. Idk I just needed to voice this!

“Juliatinas intimacy isn’t weird or hesitant even as new friends”

Yes! That’s what stood out to me from the start, the moment on the park bench? At first I was like, well, this is kinda awkward but cute, and then Juls cracked that joke and they were instantly so comfortable? Walking along, holding hands, cuddling, even before the rise of the Feelings, they were so open. It was so lovely to see.

I’m going to sound like a total nutter now, even current me is side-eyeing past me, but when I was first catching up, I literally remember saying to a friend, this friendship is so rare in how well done it is, I almost don’t want a romance to come along and ruin it. Hah. Can you imagine

León said “amiguita” which translates as “little friend”. But there are things to consider: As your other anon said, -ita -ito are added at the end of a word and it’s a term of endearment. The translator’s emphasis on referring to a girl is because while “friend” doesn’t specify a gender, saying “amiguita” specifically refers to a girl. And also the way León says that word implies he knows there’s more than a friendship

Ohh, okay, that’s what he says. Shows how much I don’t know, lol. Thanks for this too, it’s all becoming clearer. From what I understand, basically Jacobo is saying, Val and Juls, sitting in a tree

And Val understands the implication.

In espanol any time “ita” or “ito” is added to a word it’s to make it more endearing. Like I call my wife mi amorcito which literally translates to little love but it’s not meaning I only love her a little. Adding those is like putting more emphasis on how you feel in a way. Mijita is like just a little more love than mija. A lot of people will say mija to you even if you’re not their daughter but probably only really close people would say mijita.

Awww. Mi amorcito. 😀

And @caesir adds:

yeah, he uses the ito/ita diminutive (flashback to the little brother discussion) which would be something like little friend but in this case he obviously means “that female friend you also kiss/special friend”. i think girl-friend plus the quotation marks does the job.

I think it does, yeah. 🙂

Can you believe these girls went from strangers, to besties who teach each other to dance & swim, then to stupidly adorable couple who counts pinky promises as binding pacts, and giggles way too much on a car ride … in A FEW FREAKING MONTHS? I just wanna say, i’m happy they are out there, living their best life (sshh the last eps are just for telenovela drama, they’ll be fine)

Honestly, with the instant connection they had, and the circumstances under which it was further forger under, meeting while grieving for a parent, kidnap after kidnap, I would have believed if they’d gone all through that in a few weeks!

And you know, tbh, I didn’t think the last eps were that bad. Bad, but not that bad. They were able to make it through a fight, Val stood up to her sister, and then despite being torn to shreds by her was still was able to go back to Juls and do the soft little pact reminder and then after some sudden and vicious bullying, with the help of her secret dad was able to actually come through with new fortitude on how to approach everything, including drinking.

They’re facing a bunch of bad things right now, Lucho, Eva (and her hypocrisy! EXPERIMENTED IN COLLEGE???), being outed left and right and homophobia and bullying from others (friends, I thought :/) but these are all framed as obstacles for them to overcome together. They’re not still fighting each other or feeling conflicted about their feelings, the kind of stuff we’d actually hate.

Ah that’s the thing with telenovelas, specially Mexican novelas, time never make sense. A single day last like 3 episodes but them we just assume times move fast or something. Like the time Lupita was in the hospital it was like 2 days but when she asked for the bill it said 8 days. So yeah, Juls and Val have known each other for weeks if you count days-nights, but in telenovela time it has been probably months.

Oh, yeahhh. Lol, that’s wild. So I guess your answer, previous anon, is probably nearer some months.

how long do you think it’s been since juliana and valentina first met? They keep saying on the show that it hasn’t been that long since their dad passed away. But there was a guy that G’s friend shot that has already recovered. And Lucia said, it hasn’t been a year yet. Im just trying to figure out a time line and sometimes two episodes can mean one day.

Well, Lupe’s practically recovered and she was shot like…less than a week ago? I’m not really sure, because when you say two episodes can mean one day, it’s usually far many more episodes per. I have no idea how time works here, it’s both stretched out and compressed, lol. It feels like months but it’s probably a matter of weeks since they met?

Speaking about Molluna. Omg thank you anon for mentioning their name. And damn i ship them REAL HARD, i don’t want them to break up but i think they’re not on a same page this season ??? i bet Luna didn’t kill her dad cause she’s too smart to do that kind of things. I just hope they won’t break my baby’s heart in this season

I mean, it’s already broken. She’s in such a terrible place. But maybe this is her rock bottom and now she’ll get back up?

I do think that they’ll go on a break, maaaybe, or maybe fight a bit more, but they should end strong. It’s just that kind of show, right? The David stuff was telegraphed pretty clearly from the start of the season, and the rest of the writing just makes it seem like they’re in a bad place because of Luna’s seething anger at the world and current inability to compartmentalize, possibly brought on by being a bit depressed? She could probably benefit from therapy, anyway. But this obviously changes things and I don’t know what she’ll do.

Thinking more on it, I feel like, unless they write her a bit OOC to fit the plot, she would ‘fess up to it immediately if it was her. Right? Practically be proud of it. I dunno, I guess we’ll seeee.
