I liked Desenfrenadas as well, it was a slow process at times and I had to force myself to keep on watching. All for Barbara but then I was hooked. Like you mentioned I too had to pay more attention cause I watched it with subtitles and could not do anything else besides. I totally had to skip the intimate and graphic scenes with Rocio though, I really felt weird watching that lol. Just no. Also, the show had so very few likeable, tolerable and just ok men, it was frustrating at times.

Yeah, I was curious at first, looking to see how it’d unfold, each of the character introductions was strong and gave us a sense of who they were (at the start of their arc), but the show had that kind of vibe where I wasn’t sure if they were going to focus on the actual characters and their story or if they wanted to just make bold statements, be Cool and Different and shock us. Thankfully, they were very much about the characters and once the friends started really interacting, I got more and more pulled in.

Lol, I get skipping those scenes, and yes, most of the men were awful! It did feel frustrating, but I also wasn’t gonna be like, well, this is unrealistic. >_> The frustration felt more like, can they get a break? And they did! Thankfully, after that first spate of horrible dudes, they found better men. A lot of their conflict was set up against oppressive men and it’s a general truth that a lot of men suck and a lot of women do suffer because of that but they did take pains to point out some men were nice, at Tobias’s beach. Carly’s little disclaimer, lol
