i watch aam with my mom and sister (living in mexico, still closeted) and they both immediately started commenting how eva’s on the wrong here. and, it’s been nice that for the entirety of this show, the relationship has been framed as positive and that most of those who are against it are being depicted as obviously in the wrong by the narrative. it is making some people change the way they think about thee things, so i’m very thankful for that

Awww, I love that! That must have been so great to hear. I’m glad for you, anon. 🙂 Maybe…one day…

That’s the vital thing about these kinds of stories. And, why they tend to start off so wholesome and sympathetic. You’d have to be pretty terrible to side with cheater sibling-bullyer Eva on this one, after we, the audience, have seen how sweet and genuine Juliantina are, all the things they’ve had to go through. Actually, as much as we hate watching that kind of stuff, it probably puts even more neutral people in their corner–though there is a fine line to walk before that becomes just a ton of gay pain to lecture straight people on how Tough it is. At the moment, it’s all been pretty well balanced, a lot of sweet moments in there too, we just saw their very first fight, and Val doesn’t get into any more trouble than her stepmom.
