Uh, well, 5-0 is equipped with the latest in digital forensic hardware, which allows us to improve image quality by manipulating zoom, frame rate, angle, at the same time increasing resolution.
This whole episode was kind of weird, but that line seemed… well, insulting. How on earth did you get so tech-savvy? A million ways to ask that question and that was how it was phrased.
How so? A former surfer turned cop would reasonably not be expected to be a forensics tech wizard.
That’s kind of why it’s insulting. Not to mention, she’s part of an -elite- squad. The point is elite. Savannah’s attitude about “Wow, gosh, look at this.” made me roll my eyes to begin with, but then “How on earth?” Like Kono doesn’t have a brain in her head and isn’t part of again, an -elite- squad. Her xbox answer did make me smile though, because a lot of the “tech” there is shown to be incredibly user friendly. Of course, it’s a tv show, so the whole “tech” part is in quotes, but basically what I found insulting about that line was the implication that it boggled the mind that it was Kono who was good with the computers. You could also go with the attitude being that because they are “tough guys” one of them couldn’t be tech savvy.
ETA: Your gif is great btw. I love seeing H50 ones go by.
Yes, but Danny, for example, is also part of this elite squad and he’s hopeless. Savannah researched into and covered Kono’s background and it apparently didn’t include tech training. For the sake of her TV audience, she is playing up and exaggerating how impressive and unusual that level of knowledge in a non-expert.
You have to admit, champion surfer, martial artist, sniper, AND tech wizard? Almost too good to be true. :p
