I think about maya’s stare, my favourite was when she and carina were on the couch having the conversation about going on holiday, and the way she was looking at carina and the way the lighting was making her eyes look in that scene, it made the look in her eyes during the “but I’d like to try” part a little more vulnerable than it would’ve been if the lighting was different. Yeah that was my favourite scene between the importance of the scene and the intimate lighting

Oooh, that was such a good scene. As you said, the lighting was all intimate and I actually liked that they were away from the bed because as much as I do love their scenes there, this made it not about That, that to Maya this wasn’t just a relationship kept for the bedroom. And she was definitely more vulnerable, this was one of the only times she’d  reached out first and wasn’t just reacting to something Carina initiated. She was testing the ground, not just with Carina but with being open like that with anyone at all. I really loved how even when Carina was like, yeah, Maya checked with her TWICE more.

Do you not watch Supergirl anymore? I stopped midseason 2 the real world comparions ft aliens were so clunky and I also just got bored. Didn’t think it would be on this long tbh but then again except for occasional silliness from Legends when I’m in the mood, I don’t watch the CW anymore.

I stopped at the beginning of s2 as well, while I wasn’t a big fan of Kara/James, I really disliked their reasoning for splitting them up and in the media landscape of 2016 wasn’t really in the mood to trust writers who did that kind of thing. But I do think Melissa Benoist is luminescent as Kara and generally have no particular feelings about it otherwise.

I don’t mind CW as a network, they don’t do anything worse than the other networks except for being more transparent about it, but the specific kind of drama they love isn’t always my thing.

Hello hope you’re doing well! I was wondering if you could explain what maya meant when she said “I’m the truck” in bed with carina.

Hi, I am! Hope you are too. :>

Earlier that ep, their team had been called into an incident where a drunk pickup truck driver had rammed into a bunch of people. It was a brutal, drawn out call where they had to deal with finding, assessing, and saving multiple victims, several of which ended up dying. She’d also been having trouble with the team, they weren’t happy with her as captain, including Andy, and she felt like she was ruining things at the firehouse. It’s why in the next ep Carina was like, go tell your truth, after which Maya went to the chief and said he made a mistake choosing her and should make Andy captain.
