after that interview, there is an intense desire to see maca in a comedy. the girl is so talented I’m crying

She’s so good at drama too, though! Really, this was such a great role for us to see her in, there were so many great light moments early on. And that earnest goofiness with which she delivered lines like “you’re pretty when you’re right” and “in another life you might have been my Prince Charming”, it’s so endearing.

And another anon:

The maca interview might be scripted but its still the best lmao

It was definitely hilarious. Awkward comedy is hard to pull off scripted or not.

I so wish I could understand Spanish and/or could see the full eps in English (let’s start a worldwide trending topic: #Netflix pick up Amar a muerte!! ;)). You wouldn’t be able to give a quick rundown on what happened between Eva/Mateo and Lucia/Leon, would you…? :-)

Netflix would be great, we’d get full proper subtitles and be able to support it officially.

Mateo confronted Eva about the affair and asked about the baby’s parentage and Eva tried to explain how it’d all started. It was just long angsty scene after scene.

Jacobo took Lucia to the theater where he’d originally proposed as Leon and then revealed it was him.

With so much happening and only basically 7 hours left idk how aam is going to wrap each storyline. Do you think there will be some cliffhangers? They haven’t even found Leon’s body yet or if Beltran got a second chance and yet there’s like 20 storylines that need a conclusion. I can’t even see a time jump happening that nothing was concluded last week.

Well, we’ve already resolved Lupe and Juls knowing who Beltran is, wanting to get away from him, Leon’s revealed himself to Lucia, and Mateo knows about Eva.

I think now everything’s going to gather speed, it won’t be a revelation and then an episode or two of processing, but instead several things will happen one after the other.

And another anon:

Is it a known thing that I just happen to miss that Beltran is a professor at the University Val goes to? Because I just saw him in one of her scenes at school and never realized this?!

Yep. When they show the university establishing shots sometimes I’m expecting Val and then get Beltran scenes, lol.

i actually have a lot of faith in Lucia being the one to help Val and Juls. I know she cares a lot about Valentina and knows how much Juliana means to her so maybe she’ll facilitate them getter back together? at the very least i think she’d accept them and not deliberately try to keep them apart

That’s all true for the person we know as Lucia, but in terms of how much time is left and how much other plot she’s going to be dragged into, I don’t really know if she’ll get the chance. At the least, for sure, I don’t think she’ll have any issue with it, both the same-sex aspect or that Juliana’s, you know, a poor. I would actually really like if she helped them get together…that’d be a very nice role to give her.

And another anon:

em can you tell me why was eva crying in the previous episode(80), I’m not watching the whole show so I dont really know

I did answer this before, I know there are a lot of replies to go over but I do try to tag specific characters.

Just pasting it here again:

Mateo, her husband, found out that she’s been having an affair with a cartel leader, that her baby might be that cartel guy’s, and she’s been helping him launder money through the family company.

I’d like to weigh in on this episode 81 confusion if you don’t mind. It seems the discussion between whether it was random or not seems to maybe being missed because of the context of being taken into consideration. As you can see from the context Barb seems to mention it for a reason and asks Maca if she’s read it yet. I can understand that it seems random and we’ll of course find out tonight. But within the context of the discussion it does seem intentional to mention that episode.

Well, there’s nothing I’d want more than for it to not be a joke, so I don’t mind either way.
