u should rly make a juliantina faq ? i feel bad ppl are using you as a one stop all the lilies info service. televisa should be paying you

For answering a few questions? Lol, I wish. I don’t mind answering them, at all.

I just don’t want to bother my followers, the majority of whom did not follow me for this. The stuff that’s been answered before would be answered more quickly if they were able to look at one place and those must be extra annoying for the followers. As it is, I’m trying to space it out, although some people have figured out that if they ask while I’m answering others, I’m more likely to answer those as well. I’m also trying to do the earlier ones first but I’m absolutely terrible at that.

i would love an extension of the show bc i dont want to give up Juliantina but story wise since they are already done filming, it doesn’t seem likely and it’s pretty clear from this show.. there is a definite goal and storyline and once it is done, you really can’t go back. Actually, i hope bc of the popularity of the show that Maca & Barbi get a magazine cover & continue to challenge censorship in Mexico. That’d be dope.

Yeah, stories that you have to force aren’t as good.

It’ll be interesting what happens in the aftermath, they’re currently riding a wave of popularity and goodwill. helped by how personable and appealing they are and how sympathetic and wholesome the ship is. Will other series and networks want to cash in? Will either of these two play f/f roles again any time soon? We’ll have to see where we are when it all ends, I guess.

I like that AtL acknowledges and is starting to deal with the issue of Val’s substance abuse. But I wonder if they’re ever gonna deal with the fact that Val tried to give Juls a pill without telling her what it was, and how Juls seemed a lil freaked out by that….

I don’t think they’ll specifically bring it up again, it’ll probably go under the umbrella of how they address it in general, you know, stop trying to use drinks and drugs to mask what you’re feeling and so on. I think the way it was handled in that ep, shut down so quickly, probably implies it was supposed to be considered a minor thing and not going to come back.

But goddarn, that scene was so amazing to me, for the choices Barbara made as an actress and the choices Juliana made as a character. I hope you don’t mind if I expand on that a bit?

Juls was sooo taken aback by it. A million things probably went through her mind, Val knows her stance on this, was she deliberately challenging her, was she testing her, was this just a part of their friendship?

You can see her roll the pill over and consider her options and then decide this is just Val playfully giving her something that is fun for Val.

But I’ll always wonder why she chose that moment to play along, seemingly about to drink the water to chase it down until Eva came along and inadvertently saved her.

She’s been fine with refusing Val before, what made that moment different? Did she consider actually taking it and letting loose like these carefree rich kids for once? Was Val Like That too irresistible (though let’s face it, as if she could ever resist her)?

I included the last gif for meee, because Juls is super hot in that dress and also because I think the scene transition was really effectively done. In fact, we get a whole little story play out here, a subtle unexpected one, and Juls doesn’t say a single word. And then we see her spitting it out in the foreground as an end to it and the focus changing to Eva vs Val which had Juls then siding with Val and saving her.

I don’t think they’ll bring it back but I kind of wish they would, if only to see how they’d discuss it in the context of how their relationship and they have changed since.

Quick history lesson: back in the 90’s televisa’s telenovelas were around 80-90 episodes if the telenovela was really successful they will add 10-20 episodes which was possible because sometimes telenovelas wrapped their filming the same week the finale aired. Then the length of hit shows got out of hand, some telenovelas aired for a couple of years having 160-200 episodes so Televisa was very criticized for lowering the quality of the products and people stop watching telenovelas

So they changed the strategy, they limited all their telenovelas to 80-90 again and they filmed way before it was aired so they couldn’t change much. But when a Telenovela has a lot of impact in the audience they get the green light for a “second season” but is more like, instead of having a super long telenovela with 160 episodes, you have the telenovela showed in two or three different phases.

Good to know, although in the case of here, I’m not sure how it’d affect things? Wouldn’t it be difficult to get these actors back together for another new season? And it’s such a definitive premise, you’d think it would be hard pressed to find a new plot for them. I don’t want either of my girls dead or switching bodies. 😡
