The “break up” (they weren’t even official yet lol) was totally in character coming from Juls. Remember all those episodes before that whenever someone questioned their closeness and how Val is innocent and good and was in danger with Juls, Juls always thought about stepping back so Val could have her normal life again. Detective Montilla, Silvina, Lucho, now Eva. too many people reminding Juls of the chaos she brings to Vals life

Exactly. Exactly! 

The whole world’s conspiring against them, she’s humiliated, she knows she’ll definitely cause a further rift between Val and Eva if she stays, Val’s life will be upended and she doesn’t even feel like she’s worth it. Not when people who love Val tell her she’s not enough, not when her own mom tells her she’s not enough, that a rich person like Val would inevitably tire of her. So to keep all this going when it’ll only hurt Val? Possibly even physically! Let’s not forget THAT side of things either.

This is typical telenovela stuff. There’s only a handful of weeks left of the show, so we’re entering the third act. All the romantic pairings are broken up/under duress around this point, so that they can be reconciled as the conflict gets solved and live happily ever after. Plus, in one of those new interviews, Maca basically says they’ll be fine.

also about the break up… that Eva visit definitely spooked her lmao also, yesterday they had Lupe out here telling us Juls age so people gotta consider eva’s threat + age + this being her first relationship, like… ofc girlie was going to dip lol now we’ll probably see her going through it like we did Val but they’ll be okay in the end

Yeah, it all just piled up on her, it feels doomed, it feels like it’s hurting Val, how can they stand against everything and why would she even want to make Val stand against her own family?

Although Renata and Guille’s angst seems to come from…a cat. They stole the lesbian subplot. 😛

I’m totally fine with it. All ready getting that regressing Val angst and now Juls is gonna be overWROUGHT when the kidnapping happens.

You think they’ll get back together?

Do you think they won’t?? Anon, that doesn’t even require telenovela expertise, that’s just normal TV. That’s like…if the suspect they catch in the middle of a detective procedural turns out to be the actual killer and not a red herring.

The big question is when and how. Honestly, I like how much actual weight there was behind it? It’s clearly hurting Val so much, and the last thing Juls would want is for Val to give up everything for her. The more weight behind the breakup, the better the reunion, because they can give them solid in-character, properly motivated writing throughout. With more forced angst it’s like, you didn’t need to be apart, so there’s nothing really significant to write to get them back together.
