Room 104 – 1×05 – The Internet
Room 104 is an HBO anthology series with each episode set in a hotel room. Ep 5 is set in 1997 and aspiring writer Anish realizes he’s forgotten his laptop at his mother’s and needs the book on it for a meeting with a publisher. He attempts to try to talk her through the process of getting it and sending it to him, despite her being completely computer illiterate and originally not even realizing his laptop was a computer: “Why would you bring your whole computer to my apartment?”
It starts off as a comedy and I know a lot of us had to deal with our parents and teach them things that seemed so obvious and the frustration and impatience are so familiar, and the smugness and arrogance especially for those of us who are the children of immigrants, but by the end I was actually sobbing. Great performances from Karan Soni and Poorna Jagannathan in particular, who is never more than a voice on the phone.

hey fellow gays whose shows are on hiatus, how about checking out the bold type?
It’s got a really supportive friendship between three amazing ladies
they have a really amazing boss too and totally destroys the mean boss stereotype
and the main ship is between a proud muslim lesbian hijabi and a beautiful queer woman of color. Kat and adena (Kadena) is the ultimate slow burn and they have angst that doesn’t involve either of them dying and they’re really really gay
So how about checking it out? Trust me i didn’t think it was my kind of show either but i was complete trash for it after one episode. It surprised me in a good way and i think it will surprise you too.

Impossible Mercy – Wonko – Doctor Who (2005) [Archive of Our Own]
Impossible Mercy – Wonko – Doctor Who (2005) [Archive of Our Own]
So, since I have a new tumblr (look at me, I caught up to the current decade. I still have a live journal you know) I guess I’ll inaugurate it with a new fic. I haven’t written anything in about 7 years but I’ve been absorbing Doctor Who femslash for about two weeks and this came out. I have ideas for a series, but this is the start.

i really hope they don’t cancel it. at least give them one last season to properly end it. i love the show so much and it’s so hard for me (because it’s all about me) to find a tv show where i love the plot and most, if not all, of the characters. also, they can’t end it before giving two a proper girlfriend.
I know, it’s evolved into such a good show in every way, and I’d for it to end so prematurely, without even a bit of closure. Everything about the finale was a cliffhanger! Not a single thread tied up. What about Two’s kid? Which, if I thought there was a flaw in the finale, it was that, that something so important wasn’t really mentioned again. Plus, I think actors having to pull double duty for vital characters (Boone, Shaw) hurt them because they had to just exclude them altogether, probably because of time constraints. ALSO, I was thinking about this, but in that last final battle, surely another important force, should have made itself known: the free androids?
