Sen. Mazie Hirono Holds Back Tears During Impassioned Health Care Plea

You can call McCain heroic (though his statement seems to indicate he voted no because last night’s bill didn’t go far enough in stripping citizens of health insurance), and certainly Senators Collins and Murkowski deserve accolades for standing up in the face of threats from their own president and party. But Senator Hirono is the real hero as far as I’m concerned. How McConnell and his lackeys could look her in the eye as she called out their lack of compassion and willingness to undermine the democratic process is beyond me.
